Find your footing—before stress turns into crisis.
The University Students ECQ is a private mental clarity map for Kenyan students navigating pressure, comparison, and coping.
Shame-free. Student-first. You can skip any question at any time.
Why this matters (Kenya context)
University pressure in Kenya is real—and often carried quietly. In a national NACADA study of 15,678 university students, 45.6% reported lifetime use of at least one drug/substance, and 26.6% reported past-month use—meaning many students are coping while also exposed to risk environments. In the same NACADA report, 8.7% of students screened as having severe alcohol use disorder (addiction). Mental health strain is also common: a 2025 Kenya university study (Pwani University) found 30.9% prevalence of mental health conditions, with first-year students at 40.7%. [Frontiers] And stress itself has recognizable drivers: a Kenyan multi-institution study concluded up to 30% of students suffer mild to severe stress, with leading stressors including money/finances, family-related problems, and concerns about the future.
